In honor of its 125th anniversary, PWSB has committed $25,000 to support an all-new pavilion in Veterans Memorial Park in Grafton. During the summer of 2024 through late fall, a new year-round rental facility will be built. It will be located on the footprint of the current outdoor pavilion that was constructed in 1982 and is due for an upgrade.
Parks Recreation Director Chad Hoier detailed, "A banquet area will include round tables and chairs with seating for about 100. A warming kitchen will have outlets for crockpots and roasters, as well as a refrigerator and freezer." The new pavilion will be a place to host family reunions, weddings, baby showers, and more. In addition to the indoor amenities, there will be an attached outdoor covered seating area with picnic tables. The cost of the pavilion in total is $1.7 million, and the funds have been raised with the help of other local businesses and government funding.
The park project is one of six major donations planned by Port Washington State Bank in honor of the anniversary. "Our 125th anniversary is a year to reflect on how important our communities are to our own lives, and we are honored to be a part of something that will create memories for families and businesses in Grafton," shared James Schowalter, President and COO.
