It goes without saying that Port Washington is at the heart of our bank.  This very special city is home to many who enjoy a scenic walk along the beautiful Lake Michigan lakefront.

The Heart of the Harbor project, sponsored by Port Main Street, created an all-new plaza South of the Dockside Deli building, along the Interurban trail.  The seating area features a 12-foot brass fire sculpture designed by local artist Jesse Meyer, and inside the sculpture is a gas flame that is operated by push button and reignited every 30 minutes. The sculpture is named "The Gathering" in honor of the purpose it will serve for community members of all ages.

In addition to the fire sculpture, the new plaza includes lawn for play, a shade structure, decorative planter beds with native species, bike racks, light fixtures and plenty of seating.

A $20,000 donation was provided by Port Washington State Bank to help see the project to fruition, along with donations from many other community members and organizations. The plan has been in the works by the design committee members of Port Main Street for the past several years and recently culminated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 28, 2021.
