Jack Schowalter, a recent Port Washington High School graduate, has been awarded the Wisconsin Bankers Foundation (WBF) Spring Scholarship for 2026 in recognition of his excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, and financial literacy.

The award was presented at Port Washington State Bank by Rose Oswald Poels, chair, treasurer, and executive director of the Wisconsin Bankers Foundation, celebrating Jack’s accomplishments and dedication.

This fall, Jack will attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has been admitted to the School of Business. He plans to study accounting and real estate, continuing a family tradition in the field.

Jack is the oldest son of James and Jennifer Schowalter. James is President and CEO of Port Washington State Bank. Jennifer, a UW-Madison alumni, is delighted that Jack will carry on the family legacy at the university.
"The Wisconsin Bankers Foundation was impressed with Jack's academic achievements and commitment to financial literacy," said Oswald Poels. "We are pleased to support his continued education at UW-Madison and wish him success in his future career."

The scholarship is funded by the Wisconsin Bankers Foundation, Inc. (WBF), the charitable arm of the WBA. Established as a public charity in 2015, the Foundation promotes financial literacy and consumer empowerment through education, scholarships, grants, and research. Its mission is to help individuals make informed financial decisions and expand access to financial education across Wisconsin.

Jack’s achievement reflects both his hard work and the Foundation’s commitment to supporting future leaders in the financial industry.
