PWSB Soccer Park is the official home of North Shore United Soccer Club, located near the corner of Layton Street and Washington Avenue in Mequon. The club helps more than 1,500 local players acquire new skills, learn about teamwork, and maintain physical well-being by offering leagues, recreational programs and more.
A $32,000 commitment from the bank will fund the club's efforts to engage local youth in the sport of soccer. The bank's sponsorship of PWSB Soccer Park dates back to 2013, underscoring a decade-long commitment to fostering community and youth engagement through sports. This latest donation will help ensure that the soccer club can sustain its support and maintain its facilities.
"We are thrilled to continue our support for the North Shore United Soccer Foundation," said James Schowalter, President and Chief Operating Officer at Port Washington State Bank. "Investing in our youth and providing them with opportunities to grow and thrive through sports is something we are passionate about. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this donation will have on our community."
The North Shore United Soccer Club has been instrumental in promoting soccer among young people in our area, offering a range of programs that cater to different age groups and skill levels. There are even grassroots programs that provide players an introduction to the game. But to make these programs affordable for families, they rely heavily on donations from the area.
Club administrator Melissa Kunz expressed gratitude for the continued support from Port Washington State Bank. “Port Washington State Bank's ongoing contributions highlight the important role local businesses play in enriching our community. By investing in the future of our youth, they are helping to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected Ozaukee County.”
