April is National Community Banking Month and National Financial Literacy and Capability Month. During the month, what is referred to as The Power of Community Week, from April 12 – 20, 2024, celebrates the connections between local businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, families and banks. The role banks play in building strong communities, and the quality products and personal services they provide give customers the support they need to succeed and enjoy their lives. This year, PWSB is participating by partnering with the Ozaukee Food Alliance (formerly known as the Saukville Food Pantry) to host a condiment drive.
The pantry grows its own greens, and has a decent supply of frozen meats, and to help compliment these items, they are collecting condiments. Recommended donations include ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, salad dressings, hot sauce and more! They can be brought to any PWSB lobby from April 15 - May 3. Please consider giving to our less fortunate families.
Port Washington State Bank will donate $1 per pound collected, up to $1,000.
In addition to the week of April designated to highlighting the relationships among banks and their local communities, one day of the month every year is set aside for National Teach Children to Save Day. In 2024, that date is April 25th. For this, several PWSB bankers and branch managers will be joining other bankers across the nation to visit some neighborhood schools to teach young children simple lessons about saving money.
