Bette Schowalter’s century of life reflects a remarkable legacy of love, leadership, and community.
The daughter of C. Donald Hill, she carried forward a proud banking heritage. Bette worked at PWSB. She met her future husband, the late Ronald J. Schowalter in high school. Together, they helped shape the future of the bank, bringing the Schowalter name into its five-generation story.
All three of her children (Steve, Mark and Sally) and her grandchildren (James and Ashley) serve the bank. As matriarch, Bette is one of the few people who has memories of our founder, Clarence Hill. Bette’s birthday is officially June 10 - stop by the Port branch as we celebrate her extraordinary life and legacy.
