Port Washington State Bank in Thiensville is hosting a community-wide shredding event on Saturday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or, until the truck is filled. In addition, unused medications will be collected. The Thiensville branch of PWSB is located at 197 S. Main Street.
A shredding truck will be collecting and professionally shredding your sensitive documents on site. Your papers will be finely shredded and then recycled. Note that the shredders are strong enough to shred paper clips, staples, hanging folders, file folders, magazines and hardbound books. However, the following cannot be shredded: metal (aside from paper clips and staples), binder clips, 3-ring binders, plastic, DVDs, CDs, cell phones and batteries.
In exchange for providing shredding services free of charge, we hope you will consider making a cash donation to the Village Park Re-Imagined.
In addition to offering the shredding service, the Thiensville Village Police Department will be collecting (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, inhalers, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vape cartridges and devices (with batteries removed), vials and pet medications. Please do not bring illegal drugs, needles/sharps, mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, biohazardous materials, and personal care products. All prescription medication should be removed from the prescription bottle and placed in a clear plastic baggie prior to turning over the medication to the police department.
Note that due to the high demand for shredding and the limited space in the shredding truck, each vehicle is allowed 2 boxes or 2 grocery bags of paper.
